I was lucky enough to meet Rhodri through his brother Matt who is my closest friend from Uni days.
Rhodri like the rest of the De Lloyd Clan always made myself and my bro feel very welcome as we would spend many a weekend in Thornfield. We always had a laugh together and enjoyed chatting over sport and even some times our CIMA studies.
One of my favourite memories is a weeks skiing/snowboarding trip in the 3 valleys in 2007. Rhodri was dedicated to making every day matter and there was no excuses on the ski slopes even after a heavy night of extended apres ski from the day before. I know Rhodri liked to give the impression he didn't drink but I am sure he snuck in a couple of cheeky pints and the odd jager, nothing to do with Huwie at all! Rhodri whizzed down the slopes and left us slow coach snowboarders for dust. Huwie and I definitely shared a great admiration of Rhodri's technique which was absolutely flawless.
I know all of Rhodri's family and closest friends were very impressed with Rhodri's natural sporting and dancing talents but it was his dedication particularly to golf that really made him stand out. My overriding memory of Rhodri is that he was such a classy guy, a real gentleman and one of life's really good guys. We have had to say goodbye far too early. My heartfelt sympathy goes to all of Rhodri's family.
